Healthy eating is the answer to a glowing face!
Here are some of the major food that damage the texture of your skin and keeps on breaking out:
1- Rice Cakes:
You call it fat eraser, right? Well, surprisingly, rice cakes cause your blood sugar to rise, which speeds up the formation of wrinkles.
How? Your body metabolizes the simple carbs in the cakes the same way it does for sugar—by converting them to glucose.
Once they've been converted, they stick to wrinkle-fighting proteins like collagen and damage them, says Valori Treloar, MD, dermatologist and author of The Clear Skin Diet.
In our candy-heavy culture, we tend to eat lots of candy bars that contains a big amount of sugar and in return our skin react to it with pimples and acne. Sugar degrades collagen and elastin, the proteins that keeps skin soft, supple, and springy.
3- "Healthy" Cereal:
Don’t let the packaging tricks you. While whole grains are generally lower on the glycemic index compared to white ones, many "healthy" cereals are often highly refined and full of added sugar. And that means they can lead to wrinkle-inducing glucose spikes, says Treloar.
It may do a body good, but your skin? Not so much. Especially the skim variety.
Studies show that the growth hormones and growth factors found in milk appear to make their way into our blood stream where they can affect insulin, cause inflammation, and ramp up oil production.

6- Secretly Sugary Smoothies:
Store-bought bottled smoothie versions or made-to-order options from chains may include juice, frozen yogurt, or even sherbet in the recipes, all of which are packed with added sugar. If you're making them at home and using only good-for-you ingredients like unsweetened nut milk or yogurt, you're safe from the sugar bomb.
7- Juices and Sodas:
You know that most juices are just sugar delivery vehicles, with many packing as much as a soda. But you may not know that it’s their lack of fiber that makes them such bad news for your skin.
Fiber is essential for preventing blood sugar swings that prematurely age skin. Without it, wrinkles will follow.
8- Fast Food:
Choosing saturated fat-laden menus, can put you at risk for blemishes.
White bread, bagels, popcorn… "Foods with a high glycemic index give you a sugar rush that will be terrible for your skin," says Ava Shamban, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at UCLA.
"When you increase sugar levels in the blood stream, the sugar that's not picked up by the liver can get into your collagen, which your body may then identify as damaged goods and chew up. It can also cause inflammation that could make you break out."
Red-velvet cupcakes, pistachio ice cream cones… Sweet stuff that's irritating on your Instagram feed—looking at you, artfully arranged plate of macarons—is even worse for your skin.
Once again, too much sugar can break down collagen and elastin, making your skin look dull and causing wrinkles over time. When you can substitute for sugar, "honey is the best sweetener since it's loaded with antioxidants," says Shamban.
9- Your morning coffee:
If it gets you out of bed, don't give it up. But you'd be wise to balance your coffee by drinking a glass of water, too. Since coffee acts as a diuretic, that won't make skin pretty, because our skin cells are made of water, and anytime they shrink up, you lose that glow and plumpness. That means fine lines, like the ones we all have around our eyes, look worse. But as long as you add back hydration, there are plenty of benefits to drinking coffee, too: The polyphenols in coffee could mean younger-looking skin in the long run. “Women who drank about three cups a day had the fewest age spots” in a study in the International Journal of Dermatology.
10- Too Much Salt:
too much salt will dehydrate your skin," says Shamban. While cooking, you can switch to organic herbs like if you're making chicken, you can cook it with rosemary, thyme, and pepper, no salt. Fish with olive oil, garlic, and basil.
As you can see, sticking to a whole-food, low-sugar diet, is the best approach for limiting acne-causing foods. Eat lots of cruciferous vegetables (which are also beneficial for many other reasons), grass-fed protein, and healthy fats.
