The Armenian Food Culture in One Place - Batchig by Mayrig

If you are wondering where to spend a lovely and unforgettable night with your soul mate or even your close friends, I would definitely recommend to visit Batchig by Mayrig.

As its name means, they will blow you with a kiss; not an ordinary kiss, but a magical one with different tastes and flavors.

Although it’s an Armenian/middle eastern restaurant, serving Mediterranean food, and while we are Lebanese, you will definitely expect the traditional Mezza. But it turned out to be totally different; every dish is prepared and served in a delightful way.

The place is designed in a manner to inspire you with the massive loud of colors all around the place. Balancing out those colors with white walls, helping to give a completely fresh look to the interior.

The furniture with diverse layout and design adds a natural feel and brings another Mediterranean touch.

To start with the Armenian mezza, we first tasted the "Itch"; the Armenian Tabbouleh (Bulgur Salad). This one was extra flavorful with the red pepper paste, pomegranate molasses, tomato and herbs. It was the first time that I taste it and I'm very sure that I made the best choice by choosing Batchig.

The second salad we tried was the eggplant Salad. It consists of grilled eggplant with rocket and tomatoes flavored with pomegranate dressing. It's recommended for eggplant lovers, you will experience a succulent taste of eggplant that you never had before.

What can be better served with Hummos other than Soujouk! the layout was very tempting. The ingredients in the hummos were balanced and the crispy Armenian sausages were a pinch of yum ! I can't deny that I'm a Soujouk lover although I'm not Armenian ;)

The famous Kebbeh Nayeh is a main dish in the Lebanese/Armenian mezza. For the vegetarian lovers, you are pampered with the Vospov Keuftah; the traditional grandma's recipe of red lentil kebbeh, topped with tomato and onion salad.

An Armenian table can't be completed without the hot mezza, hot and spicy fried potatoes. The taste is fantastic ! as well the Batchig's sticks. Honestly I ate them all. Each flavor will leave you with an aftertaste. I advise you to try the Basterma and cheese ! (my favorite). In addition, the Batchig's Lahm B Ajin is a very unique experience with its flavorsome spices and pomegranate molasses. I bet you can leave a slice ;)

And here comes the delectable dish ! the "Sou Beureg"; one of the delightful dish I tasted at Batchig. The delicious Armenian traditional layered pastry with the pleasing three types of white melting cheese. This one is considered a divine plate since it's prepared with love and patience.

The show must go on with the traditional "Mante", the Armenian crispy baked meat dumplings served with a hot tomato sauce and cold garlic yoghurt. Once you order it, let the waiter blend the magic for a blissful savor. This rich course should not be missed once at Batchig.

The end of this night was sweeter with the presence of Loukoum pie and mount ararat. These two desserts reminded me of my childhood. The Lebanese cotton candy and Loukoum were the main teasers at my grandma's house.

I must mention the friendly service and all the nice waiters who hosted us with a big and lovely smile. Good food needs good service ;)

It was an amazing night especially when spent with the one I love. If you are searching for a great place to spend a beautiful night during the Christmas holidays, I highly recommend "Batchig by Mayrig".
