Appetito Trattoria – An Italian Restaurant Worth The try

Appetito Trattoria is a restaurant situated in Hamra and opened recently in Gemayze.

It’s the favorite hangout place for people from Beirut area, foodie lovers and tourists.

As you enter the place you are welcomed by a magnificent setting, a delightful antique interior décor.  Sitting in any table you have a wonderful view of the wood-fired pizza oven where you can see the chefs making pizza.

The menu offers a wide variety of delightful Italian dishes. We had the involtini di melanzane as a starter, consisting of goat cheese, basil, sundried tomato – all wrapped in grilled eggplant. For goat cheese & eggplant lovers, this antipasti is a must try.  The combination is well balanced with a flavorsome aftertaste.

Our choice of salad was the caprino e barbabietola, putting together goat cheese with beetroot, musclin (green leaves), pear, walnut accompanied with a balsamic dressing. Personally, I put this salad on my healthy list – I love the freshness of raw veggies and their crunchy texture and beets are wonderful.

For the pizza, we tried the Caprina! The pizza base topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, goat's cheese, seasoned sun-dried tomatoes, basil and elevated by olive and truffle oil. It was exquisite; we had a goat cheese overdose but really enjoyed every slice.

Our second choice was Spaghetti ai Gamberi (Pasta). The grilled shrimps were on point! Preserving its juiciness and taste, thanks to the bisque sauce.



The dinner was followed by a delicious tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert.

All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also caters for all tastes by providing a selection of Lebanese and Italian wine.

The service accompanied the high quality of the cooking. The waitress was very energetic, smiling all the time, taking care of each table and always around, willing to exchange some kind words with all her clients.

We had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavors. For this reason I highly recommend going to Appetito Trattoria.
