In the heart of Beirut, I found my peaceful spot.
Gordon’s café at Le Gray hotel is the best place to have meetings, lunch with friends or even sitting peacefully at my favorites table while reading a book.
People think it’s quite expensive as it is part of the Le Gray hotel; however the prices are more than acceptable.
The menu is varied with lots of items: the quality of food is always consistent and reflects a good price to quality ratio.
Everything is served with a classy but gourmet style.
To start, we ordered the goat cheese bruschetta: if you’re fan of goat cheese, you will definitely love it - topped with roasted cherry tomato, walnuts, dried apricot, honey and of course basil leaves.
Hearing the cracking noise of the bruschetta while enjoying the pleasant taste.
For the salad, we chose the Gordon’s salad - I always like to pick items with its restaurant’s name because for me it’s their signature. Gordon’s salad consists of beetroot, hardboiled egg, turkey ham, emmental cheese, avocado, corn, tomatoes, mushroom, green onions and herb vinaigrette.
My favorite plate was the classic club sandwich - the presentation was very appealing and the taste was not to be missed! It consists of layers of chicken breast, eggs, cheese and pork bacon (you can order turkey bacon as well). I really recommend it, my craving!
We also had the baby chicken plate, the presentation was epic, very palatable and welcoming.
For the dessert, we wanted to order the pain perdu because it’s my all-time favorite but I wanted to try something new, so we tried the pâte à Choux stuffed with cream and wild berries. It’s very light and have a mix of taste between the sweet cream and the acidic taste of the wild berries which make it enjoyable.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Gordon’s café; the place left us a posh mesmerization, added to this modern scenery of downtown Beirut.
Can’t wait to come back again at Le Gray Hotel.
