When someone mentions Dubai, it always pops the idea of a business trip or working in Dubai, but I honestly never thought of it this way.
I love the fact that working in Oui Society inspired me a lot to travel, discover other countries and get introduced to different cultures, mentality, and history.
Dubai is a mix of senses, a place where the new meets the old.
Dubai is home to the tallest building and the biggest mall in the world, and some of the world’s richest people.
Tourists from all over the world come to see the sights and experience a culture like never before.
Once arrived, we took a taxi to our hotel: Sheraton Grand Dubai, you can check our article about our review and facilities there.
We visited wonderful places and had the chance to experience marvelous adventure that I’ll list here:
Burj Khalifa – The Tallest Building in the world:
It includes a mosque, nightclub, and a residential building. You will be amazed looking at it in real, not to compare with pictures.
Dubai Fountain:
The Dubai Fountain is the most magical thing to see.
A choreographed fountain system, set on the 12 hectare man-made Burj Khalifa lake at the center of downtown Dubai.
We were amazed and enchanted while watching the shows.
Tip: to get the best spot, go to apple store at Dubai Mall and watch it from there.
Dubai Mall:
The Dubai Mall is the world’s largest destination for shopping, entertainment and leisure.
A must visit Mall!
You can find the weirdest spots like: Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Olympic sized ice rink, and a massive indoor cinema.
If you’re a book lover, I advise you to visit Books Kinokuniya Dubai, I was simply shocked by the wide collection of books and the professionalism of the staff.
I searched for the book “You can heal your life” when in Lebanon but it was out of stock.
So, when entered Books Kinokuniya Dubai, I asked the staff about it and she took me straight where the book was stored.
Dubai Aquarium:
Whenever I travel and find out an aquarium in the same city, I got very excited to visit it. Not just because I’m a Pisces, but because I love the underwater world and I can stay for hours staring at aquatic animals.
The aquarium tank comprises over 140 species in different colors, shapes and sizes.
It’s a wonderful experience and highly recommend it.

Ice skating in Dubai Mall:
I love Ice skating, simply because I used to roller skate since I was very little and when I was in Montreal – Canada, I was so excited to try the ice skating for the first time, so I put them on to skate for the first time.
For me, it was very easy, I know now to sustain the balance and use the blades for stopping.
It’s a very good idea to try it if you’re planning to visit Dubai since it’s a huge and professional one; one of the key leisure attractions at the Dubai Mall.

Mall of the Emirates:
Mall of the Emirates is a shopping mall, developed and owned by Majid Al Futtaim properties.
Located at interchange 4 on Sheikh Zayed road.
The Mall of the Emirates is not as big as Dubai Mall but certainly very large and impressive.
Personally, I choose it over Dubai Mall, I loved its vibe and its interior architecture.
You can enjoy your shopping, dine in and amused by the endless entertainment spots like: Ski Dubai, Yalla bowling, Magic Planet, dreamscape, cinema, and theatre.
Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates:
Ski Dubai is the world’s third largest indoor ski slope and the first to open in the middle east.
Once you enter, you get your equipment and warm clothes to start skiing. It’s very well organized and the staff are so friendly, especially with kids.
Let’s go now to experience the old Dubai!

Dubai’s heritage: Al Bastakiya Quarter
Al Bastakiya or Al Fahidi historical district, holds the heritage and memories of an era that pre-dates the federation of the Emirates.
In this era, the Bedouins lived as fisherman, dates farmers, and herders.
Today, Al Bastakiya is a maze of old-world wonders.
We enjoyed walking through the tight alleyways, mesmerized by the ochre colored buildings made of coral, mud, gypsum and palm wood.
We stopped at the Majlis gallery, a showroom ad also a hotel, showcasing high quality artworks from around the world.
Do not miss the XVA Gallery, a gallery that specializes in contemporary artwork created by Arab artists.
Once in Bastakiya, you can easily head to Al Seef area, a bustling destination, rooted in Dubai culture and heritage.
The décor and atmosphere take you back to the old times.
It’s an entire shopping complex for dining and leisure.
Al Seef is a charming atmosphere where you can have lunch in one of the restaurants, have coffee with friends.
Let’s now experience the Safari Road Trip in the Desert!
I can tell that touching the golden sand was a feeling not to forget, the whole safari experience was an ultimate one.
You can have a Camel ride, then wait for 2 hours so that the show begin.
Tip: Always take the VIP tickets in order to sit on the roof where you can enjoy the show and a waiter will serve you food.
We didn’t like much the food there, I ended up eating two fried samosas.
Now it’s time for a day at the beach!
La Mer Dubai:
You can’t travel to Dubai without a relaxing sunbath at the beach!
We visited La Mer Dubai, since it’s 20 min away from Sheraton Grand Dubai.
This project is developed by Meraas; Lots of affordable restaurants, clean walkways and outdoors.
No entrance fee, you can rent a towel and enjoy an afternoon swim.
Dubai JBR beach – Dubai Jumeirah Beach Residence:
It’s one of the best beaches in Dubai and a bustling cosmopolitan area where you can enjoy a variety of water activities, swim and enjoy your entire day in the sun with friends and family.
For a happier journey, you can enjoy the beachside dining and shopping area for an ultimate one!
Blue Waters by Meraas:
Bluewaters is a vibrant lifestyle destination, few walking steps away from JBR beach. It features residential, retail, hospitality, and entertainment concept.
You’ll definitely spot Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel.
