The Lebanese Mezze Specialties at Semsom

Since we are living in Lebanon, it’s a must to taste the Lebanese cuisine and especially the mezze once in a while. As everybody knows, it’s a rich cuisine with lots of tastes and flavors. Once you’re on the table, you will dive into the luscious dishes.

This time, Oui Society decided to visit Semsom – City Mall, Lebanon to taste its Lebanese mezza. Trust me! it was an amazing experience since we didn’t go with the traditional Lebanese Mezze since we we’re excited to taste their specialties.

Let’s Talk About Food!

All the plates were clean and well presented, for the salad; we picked the Freekeh which was a great choice, very juicy and delectable. All the ingredients were well balanced. As a second choice, we couldn’t miss the artichoke salad; it’s served in artichoke hearts topped with a tangy mixture of cherry tomato, olive slices, cucumber, feta cheese and a very palatable sauce.

The Hummus was very appetizing, we’re definitely not talking about the known hummus, at Semsom, you better enjoy the fun of it…for this reason, we chose the pesto hummus, creamy and delightful (and here we always make sure that the flavor does not infringe the taste of the hummus).

Coming to the hot mezza, we tasted the chicken liver with dibs el remman, ras asfour chicken with Debs el remman, grilled halloumi with cherry tomato and basil, kibbeh ma3jouka topped with 3 peppers and roasted pistachios and pesto potatoes. The flavor was piquant, leaving an aftertaste for every plate.

Once in Semsom, remember to ask for the chicken & cheese osmalieh, it has a heavenly taste with every bite. Never forgetting the potato balls stuffed with meat, served with raspberry dip; I am sure it has a secret ingredient that gives it a blissful experience, not found in another place.

The Lebanese mezza can’t be completed without the chicken shawarma plate; it was simply a “YUM”.

We will definitely come back to relive this experience at Semsom.
